Originally from Edinburg, Texas, a small border town in South Texas, I grew up quickly understanding the importance of community, my Hispanic culture, and the beautiful impact both have on my life. This past May I received my BBA in Marketing with a focus on Advertising Strategy from Mays Business School at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. During my time in Aggieland, I have been involved in organizations that have helped shape me as a leader and have provided me with tools to grow as a young adult.
Hey there, I’m Miranda!
As the youngest of three children, I grew up admiring everything my older siblings pursued. My sister, Andrea, brother, Thomas, and I have always shared an appreciation for film and tv, hoping to one day see my sister on the big screen. It is this love of entertainment and the art behind it that is, yet again, drawing me back. Both of my siblings have found their way to Los Angeles to work in the entertainment industry and my goal is to join their industry on either the West or East Coast to pursue my own dreams.
While in Business Student Council, I have been able to gain a better understanding of the business world planning council events and working on our marketing team to promote everything our council does. Through Kappa Alpha Theta, I have had the opportunity to serve in a variety of leadership positions while giving back to our community through our annual philanthropy events. In addition, I have had the pleasure of serving as a Campus Brand Manager for HBO Max during my junior fall semester where I helped increase HBO Max's brand awareness on my campus.
Over the past few years, I have come to realize the impact my family has had on the person I have become. My family, both blood and chosen family, are the core of who I am and what I stand for. I have such respect and admiration for this group of people and it is because of them that I have the ambition and excitement I have. During this same time, I have begun to prioritize my happiness and have started taking advantage of every opportunity I receive. Life is too short to spend too much time worrying about insignificant factors in our lives, rather I want to live my life without regret and seize every opportunity I have to further my passions and find my joy.
